Don't get me wrong, CR is great to visit (and between 2006-2008, I made about 35 trips as I was courting mi amor), but lets face it, San Jose is a dump. I would not want to live there. Everything about it is 3rd world (infrastructure, political corruption, transportation, etc).

BTW- great to see you on the board again, hope all is well.

I'd say the Bro has a serious taste/weakness for trash and cheap thrills. But that's just a guess--might be laboriously visiting the Museo del Oro and other national treasures. Or turd fishing in Jaco or...

Orange, you and I remember San Jose very differently.

I see the unkempt vegetation, the cracked sidewalks and unpainted buildings. But I see a whole lot of good that beats out NY and Florida combined. I suspect less violent crime, better transportation capabilities, less but adequate infrastructure, and a friendlier, freer, and more relaxed population.

From all I read, hear, and have seen, sounds like you could very easily be talking about the USA!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am sure that just as there are many areas here (in Costa Rica) that are not a "shithole" nor a "dump", there are (probably) some places in the USA that are not either!!

As for the original subject of this thread, it was apparently an act of revenge, NOT RANDOM VIOLANCE; something that could happen in ANYPLACE in the world and does someplace virtually everyday!! In this case, if the info is correct, it had nothing at all to do with the condition of the country. And ones personal opinion of the condition of Costa Rica should not have even entered into the discussion!!! JMHO

Oh, and by the way, Curridabat is NOT in San Jose

My condolences to the family, especially 2 little K*ds losing their mom.

Just read this, I use 90210 when I come to CR. I met Mike a very nice guy, I am sorry for his sensless loss. I hope they kill that guy in jail.

Just read this today! My heart is heavy for Mike and all the great people who work in this great clinic. I have an appt on Thur of this week there. Prayers for the loss.

Taking my 28 yoa daughter there tomorrow to have some major work done. Great people there. Guess I had better prepare my daughter for the news about Martin.

Very sad news Me and my family have had lots of work done there .I love this place and all the employees .
