If you love CRT, bully for you. Rock out with your C*ck out. But anyone who's been here for a while must acknowledge the atrophy of experienced members in the forums. There are virtual tumbleweeds rolling through this site.

Never thought of us being entitled to ROI for time and attention on a site like this. Intetesting concept. iron key encrypted thumb drive is great until you lose it. Also, you would not have the updated forums to compare to the good old days. I not only acknowledge the atrophy of experienced members but I make allowance for it being as change is difficult. I will have patience as I will have a lifetime of memories to look forward to if this site stays alive.

My recommendations for those that have lost faith is to go away for 3-6 months and then see if you feel comfortable with what, I hope, will be a new and improved website and forum.

If there is nothing to gain in exchange for time and attention there is no value in the forum. I didn't think that is a hard concept to understand. Obviously you have never worked in marketing. Consumers of media expect to be enlightened or entertained in exchange for their time and attention, which the media companies, of which CRT is one as an online publisher, sell to advertisers.

Your defending CRT seems like it's because you're personally offended by my pointing put that it's in decline. Don't know why but whatevs.

Don't worry about my Ironkey, I have a backup.

It is slower at times for me yes....however how can I give up on a site that has provided me with such great customers and friends for 10 years? I know the point is that this may/could go away over time with the site time being slow! But still I love this site. Period...IMHO There will be people leaving the site unfortunately, but my guess is many newbies will join. I just really hope they post good and helpful info to the new ones joining CRT!

TrueSportsman, it's the atmosphere like what you provide at Sportsmans that we find lacking today on the CRT website and its management. We old CRT members prefer not to just drop CRT because we have made some good friends here, so we have attempted to get the attention of the new CRT owners to allow them to address the issues. So far all they have done is either ignore us, give us lip service or send us PMs warning us to shut up. If you treated your long term loyal guests like they have been treating their long term loyal members, you know that your business would be in trouble.

The CRT website has been very good for you over the years and we all would like to see that continue, but feel it's slipping away. It's been good for you because Sportsmans (You) deliver on what you promise and you respect your guests even when you disagree with them. If there is any influence that you might have with the new CRT owners, all of us old CRT members who consider ourselves your friend will be most appreciative.

I regret the board has been slow and realize this has been a problem for several months. At this time, we are looking for alternatives.

Among the issue is that we have a very large forum and in over ten years nothing has been deleted or archived. We believe that keeping this material is very important and remain committed to preserving this legacy.

I will post an update in the forum when the new solution has been selected.

For years CRT worked great with no issues with speed or missing board functions. Then seemingly overnight things went bad. I think most of us want a simple explanation of what was changed (and why) to put us where we are today.

We have upgraded our hosting services in order to help with the speed of the site! We thought the upgrade wasn't going to be complete until tomorrow but as of 6pm PST the site is operating faster than I have ever seen it run!

I'm also getting reports from CRT members in Costa Rica who say that the site is ZIPPING by now!
