Brother Irish Drifter could be a bit tart (he didn't suffer fools gladly) but he was a strong voice for reason...and had a wicked sense of humor too. I hope he didn't suffer much. He will be sorely missed.

Been away for awhile. I'm mostly a lurker on here. But Irish Drifter always seemed to be a voice of reason and full of wisdom. He will be missed.

I do miss him greatly. he was a most interesting old timer that I could identify with.
I did have a few meets with him back in 2006 .
Sorry I could not get together with him for a few beers after my old age slow downs

BTW , his old username was " DING DONG" on the previous CRX that preceded this board.

I expect to be counted as one who will definitely miss him and his peculiar sense of humor. In my opinion, he was absolutely the most reliable source in information about Costa Rica.
May he rest in peace.

I will also miss Irish. He was an intelligent man with good insights on CR. I can't remember the exact time that I met him but I think it was around 2005/ 2006. There are legend posters that have been on this site and the site before...He was among the ones that gave it straight from his view.

Enjoyed his commentary, his knowledge, experience and above all...his independence. He will be missed.

Sept 16th.

And ever so loyal to CR. Would post against anyone who was bitching about how screwed up CR is, including the poster who speaks in tongues who always runs life in CR into the ground, by saying "why are you staying here?"

His son will be bringing his urn back from the states to be interred in the Crypts belonging to the organization he was actively involved in at the San Antonio de Escazu cemetery.

Amid all of the adversity and adjustments required to live in Costa Rica, ID was an adapter and survivor. Not many gringos come down here, play the game, and last as long as him. I sure hope his wisdom is not lost forever. May he rest in peace.
