I usually get colones, but I have a question along these lines. How well do $100 bills work down there. I can barely use them in Miami, will the girls take one for an all-nighter or will I have to use $20's?

The $100 bill will make the girls look like this :D :D
No problem with the cien paper. But, only give her 4 $20's.

$100.00 bills can be a real problem. Many hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. will not accept them at all, and those that do will inspect them very carefully, if they have a mark or the smallest tear they will not accept them. Even banks will not accept a $100.00 bill unless it is perfect.

Still think the best thing to do is travel with the minimum cash needed and use an ATM card to finance your daily needs. Again the usual warning, alert your bank that you will be using the card in Costa Rica from... (date)... to... (date)... to avoid problems.

Ding Dong is correct. Cash has to be perfect. Even the girls will balk at a bill with marks or a tear. ATM is the way to go. My bank only charges the normal charge for using an ATM that isn't theirs.

The casinos are happy to take your cien notes...but will look them over carefully. They also give bank rates on colones in exchange (except for the Delrey casino...rip off) so is easier than standing inline at a bank to exchange for colones. Usually just sit at a table and ask for colones chips. then after playing a few hands go cash in. Sometimes you might make some extra colones for your time.

Superman,

A-greed. Just to defend my honor on this point, I am definitely a "no cien" person. I think it's great sport to see how far you can get a girl to go for how little money. In this case, though, I'm seeing my favorite for a long weekend and she told me dollars work better for her than colones. And she's special. Just to repeat, I'm not a pu*sy!, I'm not a pu*sy, I aaam nooot a pooooooosy!

There. I almost feel better.

Take it easy,
910Guy

Yo SUPERMAN,

You know my thoughts on the gringos who overpay and spoil CR. Hey even the night we took those 2 putas to my apt. I paid 5 mil less than you did...LOL. But 15 mil was a great deal for a DR chica!

Yeah Yeah i know man, but i took that chic that one ohter night that we last saw each other and banged her all night and morning the next day. We didn't part ways till like 12 in the afternoon, and that is just because i was hung over, needed to get home and brush teeth, take some pills, shower, etc. She wanted to hang out the whole day, and all for 15k!! :P

SUPERMAN, I hear ya bro but down the road when these Airbusses bring in tons of gringos willing to pay $100-200 for a puta good luck finding those deals. I think it's only a matter of a few yrs. before CR will not be a great monger destination if things continue the way they are going. I bet former Park Hotel chicas will start getting $100...lol. The ones that would go for $20. We have spoke about that gringo mentality.
