See, that's the kind of sh*t I'm hoping to avoid. You don't need to go to CR to wine and dine a girl for days in order to *potentially* hook up with her -- you can do that here in the US. In his case, I'd rather just pay. Probably costs the same, but you are guaranteed to get laid, with much less effort.

Lots of guys I know - one I'm thinking of in particular - would never pay for a working gal; the one I'm thinking of paid over 2k (in dollars ) to fix her teeth - despite the significant cash outlay, he always maintained he never "paid" for sex.

You always pay; just some guys are delusional. Look at the story above - you are going to tell me that guy did not "pay" (guess its a good thing dollars are fungible/interchangeable - they have no memory of what you use them for )

Personally, especially if I was just down for a vacation, I would not waste my time with indies - so called - pay up and have a sure thing.

i'll admit i am one of them that tends to get involved with a non-pro in medium to long term rel's, 4x over past 13 years and def wind up spending a bundle more than p4p. i still do the p4p thing on my last night in country though. p4p is definitly cheaper and easier. my way is also difficult, complicated, time consuming, often a pain, and probably not very smart unless you are living there full time as opposed to once a month.
