This thread would be very entertaining if it were not for the fact that there is a large number of members who would consider using the service. I did not realize how hard hearted I had become till I got to know some of you guys and how easily you've opened your hearts. I used to think it was funny but now I think more of it as a sand thing that so many nice guys are so much in need of love that they would do to this extreme to get it.

I don't know about you, but to me it's just good, clean (hopefully) fun. How many guys are serious about taking them home-really? I didn't see any quickie wedding chapels like Vegas in CR. Most of the chicas would probably do it but I doubt those moonstruck guys would.
It's "The Game Of Love" with hot 18 to 30 y/o chicas. For me, it's the only game in town and that is just fine with me.

KC...on a serious note...I have thought about something like that. Since I´m here several times a year I could use the extra cash. I don't know exactly what to make of this thread. I was scammed by a chica for over two years, and I've been to CR 19 times. As I stated on
another thread, I should have known better, and I was out of my mind
to continue it, but it happened. King Costa's implication is that mongers
like me are 'losers'. Maybe the next time I'm in CR, King Costa can
introduce himself to me and we can discuss the matter. The 'King'
and others should count their blessings that they have never been
conned/scammed. I wonder, were they ever married/divorced in the
US? I wanted to believe that my chica was 'different' than the other
chicas at the DR. I know more about CR than you will ever know, and
am more intelligent than you will ever be. Some of us lack certain
social skills, confidence, whatever, (to say nothing of the social mores in the US for the past 20 years) that have hindered our quest for a serious relationship with the opposite sex. You imply that Gringos who get
involved with chicas at the DR are fools. I ask you...what's the
REAL difference between a pro and a semi-pro, and for that matter,
a chica that 'works' only a few times a year? They're all prostitutes,
it's only a matter of frequency and/or price. I resent your attitude.

Tim: I am sure King meant no offense to anyone personally here. He does seem awfully cynical at times, but he is a nice guy that really doesn't want to see the chicas scam any of us guys that have a soft spot for these hot latina babes.

While I think his post was in gest, there is definately some truth to it. If there really are guys that would send a chica money to NOT work at the Del Rey, that is absurd. Some guy needs his head examined. In my 6 month novia-like relationship with Cristal I never sent her money and never suggested she NOT work. In fact when she would ask me for money I told her to go back and work more at the Del Rey.

I think what most of us don't understand is how easy it is for them to work at the Del Rey and make tons of dough. In time, it changes them and they began to look at us mongers as a walking ATM, not as a real person. With Cristal, there were tons of guys contanstly calling her and leaving her messages, telling her how much they loved her. She considered it all a joke, and had little interest in a relationship with any of those guys. Why? Because a relationship is hard work to maintain, especially when the two people are separated most of the time.

There was a time when I would talk to Cristal via telephone everyday. It was great for my spanish. I learned much quicker that way, and for that alone I am grateful. I would also ask her if she had seen any of my amigos at the Del Rey and want her to bring me up to speed on what was going on there. I never thought she would stop working there for me, and I never offered to pay her to not work. That would have been stupid. I know that she was there to make as much money as possible so she could eventually return home to Dominica. But settle down with an old monger? I never thought she would do that.

In all seriousness, some guys need to be reminded (myself included) that what we are getting in Costa Rica is a fantasy. It's a hell of a lot of fun, UNLESS you start blowing too much money and feel stupid. Gaurd your heart and your wallet. Understand that it's a fanstasy, and know that it will end at some point and then you can move on.

Perhaps your post would be a lot more productive if you described your own experience of being scammed to those who either are being scammed or about to be scammed.By the way, this board does not tolerate personal attacks on fellow board members. Save your personal attacks for other boards.

I don't recall exactly what King wrote. I do remember it sounded somewhat harsh, perhaps harsher than he intended, but figured he intended it as a humorous or sarcastic comment (as was Dino's comment about VB). I also figured King's comment was directed at OTHER guys, perhaps like Gigbag, and not as something personal towards any of the regular members of this board. It was also indicative that Astro may have been right after all about the great divide between the GFE and the LAL guys.

Where King was WRONG was in assuming all these guys are losers who will NEVER LEARN. GT is evidence of that. I know GT personally. Like me and every other member I have met, he is a well-educated regular guy who simply enjoys CR for its chicas who can deliver something gringas in the US can not. That doesn't make any of us losers any more than it makes chicas perfect. A lot of us figured out about the untrustworthiness of these chicas on our own. Many more had that reinforced through reading about the experiences of others on this board. Unfortunately, there are also some like GT who got burned BEFORE they had the advantage of learning from boards like this. However, GT HAS learned (albeit a little to late). When guys like GT or Astro openly tell the rest of us of their mistakes so that we won't make such mistakes ourselves, I can only offer thanks.
