I felt it in Guanacaste and agree with Roy's comment that it seemed to last a while. Scared me enough to get out of my house. Lit up a nervous cigarette and noticed how much the water in my pool was moving. Felt more like rocking a boat I alwayas assumed it would be more up and down.

Felt it!! I was in the movie theater in San Pedro with a favorita. She screamed, as did the entire theater, and ran out, as did everyone else except me and another gringo

Took me a few seconds to realize wtf it was (I'm from FLA!), but they all knew immediately. The floor seemed like it rolled pretty good for a few seconds, but didnt feel anything after. The movie continued after a few minutes :D

Ticos are such phucking pussies whenever theres an earthquake. Shocking cause they have no qualms with passing a transport going uphill on a double solid line into a blind turn.

I always say that Ticos are too dumb to be scared. But when there is an earthquake or a little shootout, they cry like bitches.

Sounds rather like sterotyping and racial profiling. I absolutely do not believe Ticos are any stupider or smarter than anyone else.

Like you yourself observe ticos are afraid of earthquakes but not afraid to pass a transport going uphill on a double solid line into a blind curve. You OTOH are not afraid of earthquakes but scard shitless to pass a transport going uphill on a double solid line into a blind turn.

I was in a room at SL and the first thing I noticed was the chair vibrating.....as I have never experienced an earth quake, it took a few seconds to realize what was going on.
After about 10 seconds, it went from a vibration to a swaying movement, we went into the bar area,...and yes, the chicas were disturbed.

It's a wise man that recognizes an opportunity and takes advantage without unduly hurting the other party.
Missing here are reports from Brothers who were having sex during the 'quake--enhance the experience or what? CRT wants to know.

It is inaccurate and inappropriate to make the statement “Ticos are too dumb to be scared. But when there is an earthquake or a little shootout, they cry like bitches.”

If that was an attempt to be humorous, from my perspective the attempt was not successful.

Unless you are a citizen of the Republic of Costa Rica you are a guest here and it is simply wrong to be rude to your host. Being rude like that is what gives Americans an ugly name. Beyond that the statement is blatantly wrong.

Other than that Mrs. Kennedy, how was Dallas?

First, about stupid ticos. I'd say they are surrounded by beautiful ladies that we go down and pay money for.

Second, I was brushing my teeth one time, hung over, I think last May. Everything started to sway. I found out later that it was an earthquake and not the Rum.

And I may be reading more into it than is there, but I do believe they consider the basis of the lies to be justified."

Its hardly inaccurate, they really are too dumb to be scared. Low IQs and no morals or work ethics. Of course there are exceptions, but out of the thousands of Ticos I've ever dealt with in any capacity, the majority are semi-retarded. Many mean well, but just have no common sense. If you argue this, you have not been here long enough.

I'm in Costa Rica for the girls, the weather, the general party atmosphere, the beaches and there are many financial opportunities for somebody in my field (particularly because the Ticos are too stupid to exploit it).

I thought it was cute - so it wasn't a failure of epic proportions.
