This is something I really dislike about SJ...once a girl pulls this crap on me, there's no chance I'll ever take her.

I've never really had an issue with the rest of the list aside from bad performance. I'm regularly in touch by phone & email with a number of chicas & believe it or not, have never gotten a RFM, never gotten the upsell crap either.

Are you serious ... $130 ? SMH LOL!!!! How can you not laugh.

You know...part of me is curious to know what an $130 session is like in a place where the average going rate (depending on the time of day/evening/night) can be as low as $40. Because I personally will never know and I have had some excellent sessions for well under the $130 price tag.

But then again, who am I ... I wouldn't be able to differentiate the taste of a $114,000 bottle of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild wine and a $4 bottle of Boones Farm except that after the headache is over I will know I paid wayyyyyyyyy too much for one. LOL!!!!

Not that we travel that distance just to strictly shop from the discount rack, but the pricing is part of the allure of the sport for a lot of people. And I know some will say ... you get what you pay for ... and I will say ... not always... at both ends of the pricing scale. However, at the end of the day ... it is to each their own.

Do a guy a favor...

If you get a chance ... seek her out later ... and she will be around later at that rate. Turn the tables on her as you have with the "Lounge Lizards" and there " One drink for me"

Tell her that since her night isn't going to well...that you think you can afford her now ...

Tell her you will give her $20, but she will have to pay for the taxi back to your place.

If (When) she declines ... question her ability to be worth $20

See how insulted and pissed off she gets.


We don't set out in the evening planning to be annoyed or insulted, and everyone is aware that they are trying to provide a service for a price (making a living)....I believe in free enterprise, but come on...

You don't have to be an economist to realize that your way out pricing yourself at $130 and that its insulting...especially the part where she thought it was endearing to question the size of your wallet.

For her, at the end of the night she will make the choice of sticking to her own price structure and she will either go home with a lot, a lot less or a lot of nothing. It will be her choice.

A lot of you guys might know her. Her name is Claudia, and she's older, a Milf type kinda. I'm into older chicks, and saw her a few times at SL, KL , and the DR. Its funny cuz she tells this tall tales about how she's only in the DR to sell leather coats to the bartenders. I'm like...wtf? Who is buying leather coats in May in CR? But thats her story, and she only "*******" when she's bored. Shes maybe 40, blond hair, a gap between her teeth, and is constantly smoking a cigarette. Matter of fact, if I ever see her without a cigarette, I'd be surprised, its like her accessory. And she a lot of times wears a long leather trench coat. Its can be 3pm and 90 degrees out, and shes rocking the leather coat.

Dont feel bad at all! Shes been established as a scam artist as well. Many people have given her money and then seen her take said money, right to the NYB to go have some wine. She's not part of any official organization. She just photocopies some leaflets off the internet, passes them out, and tries to guilt you into giving while you're entering/exiting the house of sin. Thanks for the heads up and clarification ... she almost had me fooled (or atleast had me thinking) as I have been passing through the Del Rey for almost 6 years and last summer through the fall were the first times that I saw her. Yeah the leaflets and her demeaner surely made her not look like your typical Del Rey panhandler.

Why Chicas Come to CostaRica:

Wow! I thought it was just me who found this line hilarious... just classic!!!

I pulled this out of my "Travelings' Top 10 Tips for Newbies" ... as I believe this is annoying as hell and not just a mistake solely made by Newbies.


Beware of “The Sitter” - You enter the Del Rey and your head is on a swivel watching one fine chica after another parading around or posting up at the bar. You already understand that you have to hold on to some patience and not jump at the first thing that looks good to you (rookie move) …

You then find an empty table (rookie move if you’re alone) or post up at the bar for a drink. Some chica with an engaging smile, surely half-decent broken English and OK looks comes to join you (regardless of whether you offer or not) … you share small talk, but you know your not going to walk with this one … she may or may not ask for a drink or being the nice newbie you offer… (something to bide the time)

Now you are locked in … she is asking you all the standard annoying questions taking your time and focus from checking out the scenery (…and what fine scenery it is). Like a zone defense…she has taken you out of the game. She gives everyone the aura that you are her meal ticket and that nobody dare come over to you or make eye contact.

She is a sitter. She will basically sit there, occupy your time, divert your attention away from all the sweethearts that are circling the joint…

You will spend 5 minutes enjoying her casual conversation and then the next 20 trying to think of ways to get rid of her (you can only go to the bathroom so many times). There will be 5 minutes of dead silence as she stares at you and touches you under the table awaiting the "Let's Go" or "Vamanos". The smoke starts rising from your head as you think of a graceful or non-graceful departure.

Other girls will look at you and her and then smile knowing you are miserable and don't want this chic. Some will circle several times always seemingly stopping where you can see them...Others will even grab a table nearby where they can make direct eye to eye contact with you flirting from afar believing they are a much better option then that charity case at the table with you.

It's now been about an 1/2 hour and this girl aint going anywhere unless it is with you...you have seen atleast 50 girls who you rather be talking to then this chic who by the way may be nice, but if you wanted the girl next door...you would have never come to Costa Rica to begin with.

Simply put … she is there until you tell her that there is no way in hell you are going to the cama with her. She will waste your time and make you lose your focus and possibly lose out on the one you have been wanting...

Finally, you make the Exit move ... if your good, you will leave it very closed ended and tell her you are not interested now, later and never ever, but if your like most...you show a little compassion and leave it open ended with a "Maybe Later" or "I have to rejuvenate" or "I'm just not ready right now", "I need to walk around some" and then most annoying of all…she will stalk you with her eyes the rest of the evening; you will run into her each time you exit the mens room; she will post up with a friend within eye shot of wherever you might be and when she sees you talking or departing with someone else…she will give the stare and face of death as if you are cheating on her….you no good lying bastard you! LOL!!!

As a side note …It’s always easier when your posted up at the bar to walk away then it is to get rid of a sitter at your table.

Well, to get rid of a sitter you could learn these sentences in Spanish--"OMG, there's my wife and her sisters...and they look very angry." or "I've always wanted to have sex with my mother...and you look just like her." On second thought, maybe these won't work...but still worth trying.

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread, I really enjoyed reading it! Being a newbie, I found these tips to be very helpful. Nice job!

Nothing I've read yet has been a source of particular annoyance to me, just a part of doing business and learning how to avoid these little hassles. But what peeeves the holy shit out of me is when I'm speaking perfectly good Spanish and have been doing so all day or all week and some chica, who barely speaks English, won't stop replying or asking questions in broken English, even after I indicate politely, in Spansih, that I would rather speak Spanish. I've had 16 college courses in Spanish, many private lessons, read over a dozen novels in Spanish and live with my Mexican GF - we only speak Spanish at home. Then, half way around the world in a Spanish-speaking country, I can't continue to speak it!!!

I was in Panama recently and have to tell you what happened. First realize that, in Panama, virtually everyone will approach you or begin speaking to you in Spanish, assuming you speak the language, no matter how white you are. So I go into a convenience store to buy sunscreen. The shopkeeper is oriental, which means nothing in Panama. It's very mixed-race and everyone speaks Spanish. I ask where the "bloqueador" is in Spanish. That's what my GF calls sunscreen. The woman says in English, What's that?" I reply in Spanish that I'm speaking Spanish, so why can't you answere me in Spanish? Don't you speak Spanish? She says, "Si, hablo espanol". Then I tell her that the English word is sunscreen. She points to where it is and there are 15, 20, 30, 50, and 80 SPF. I don't know what the hell the difference is between 50 and 80, so I ask her in Spanish. She says, "ochenta." I say in Spanish, "ochenta what?" "Cual es la diferencia?" She says, "ochenta" again. I left and went to another store where they helped me and never tried to show off to me that they spoke English. ERRRRRR!

MOST ANNOYING THING is THE LURKER on CRT

I would have the say the most annoying thing is the " quick change." This rarely happens to me now as I have honed my skills in reading the chicas from so much practice over the years but it goes like this: You talk to her at the bar and she is charming, hot and sexy. Basically doing everything to lead you to pull the trigger with the promise of a great session. You take her to the room and bang.... the quick change. The attitude becomes sour and cold and the mood is killed. I don't care how hot she is, negativity is a buzz kill for me.
Of course when this happens, I immediately pull my own quick change and end the session before it begins. The easiest way out at that point. To the newbies: NEVER PAY UP FRONT ( unless it's an MP.)
