Excuse me if I appear to sound obtuse, but isn’t a “working girl” that sells pooooosey the same as a hooker? It’s amazing that over time some mongers can find ways to make light of the definition of what a hooker is. I’m not saying that the young ladies aren’t good people, but let’s face it, they are prostitutes. PERIOD!

Here, deep thinkers, is the original post:

This has been posted many times before, but as a friendly reminder here it goes again:

TICA does not mean "hooker". It means "woman of Costa Rican nationality".

CHICA is an code word we use around CRT for "hooker", at least among the monger milieu, but it doesn't mean "hooker" either -- it means "girl" or "chick".

His point was that all "Ticas" or "chicas" aren't necessarily putas or hookers or working girls.

Nobody was searching for a definition of hooker.

Nobody was saying that "chica" is a bad word.

actually, all the modern phrases such as 'tica', 'nica', 'colombiana', 'little darling', etc....

are derived from the ancient latin phrase which roughly translates as 'i have no change'.
