Amigo....

Most people come to the point in thier lives ( some before 40, most in thier 50's, and others.. never) they realize all we have is TODAY, yesterday history, tomorrow a mystery and live life accordingly.

Most of the problems I experienced in life was when I attempted to live my life upon the expectations of others. When I began living my life on my desires, most of the problems I experienced disappeared..... ( including spouse, job, house in the suburbs, fancy car, and other "must have" things I found I didn't need nor made me happy!)

Billy Joel's words are more elegant......

Got a call from an old friend
We used to be real close
Said he couldn't go on the American way
Closed the shop, sold the house
Bought a ticket to the West Coast
Now he gives them a stand-up routine in L.A.

I don't need you to worry for me cause I'm alright
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home
I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance
(I never said you had to)
I never said I was a victim of circumstance
(I never said)
I still belong, don't get me wrong
You can speak your mind
But not on my time

They will tell you, you can't sleep alone in a strange place
Then they'll tell you, you can't sleep with somebody else
Ah, but sooner or later you sleep in your own space
Either way it's okay to wake up with yourself

I don't need you to worry for me cause I'm alright
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home
I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone

I never said you had to offer me a second chance
(I never said you had to)
I never said I was a victim of circumstance
(Of cirumstance)
I still belong, don't get me wrong
You can speak your mind
But not on my time

I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life
Go ahead with your own life, leave me alone

Peace Brother

Man I never even liked Billy Joel but that was dead on. How about some Boston:

I understand about indecision
I don't care if I get behind
People livin in competition
all I want is to have my peace of mind

We've had a couple of really personal "sharings" on this Board lately (Brother Redman69's being the other) that I can't imagine being on any other man's Board. That makes this a very special place. Thanks for making me think/ re-assess, Brother SB and commenters--I'm otherwise quite shallow.

Sometimes we contradict ourselves, sometimes the situation changes or appears to, but as long as there is an internal logic, a moral gyroscope, then let the winds blow over us and let the seas run under us--our friends and boon companions will understand. As for everybody else--if you're not paying me or feeding me or phucking me or providing emotional sustenance, then I don't need you...and some of those types are subject to change. And yes--a little Patron Silver or FdC 18 helps tide you over the rough spots.
