If you are in the gulch there is a decent salon close by. Near the SW corner of Av 5, C 5, diagonal from the SW corner of the Holiday Inn. I had a haircut there in Feb. IIRC it cost C1500. The prices are posted in the window. It's a fairly posh looking joint but the prices seemed reasonable. Especially considering that a haicut at home costs me $15.
I never got my haircut there but I recall walking by and seeing a particularly hot looking chica stylist. Unfortunately, I didn't really need a haircut at the time, but it did make me seriously consider going in to get a little "trim".
That's "Salon Jenny" and there used to be a couple cute Colombiana sisters that worked there, I would stop in every trip. Haircut & manicure prices are generally half compared to the salon at Holiday inn, they also offer theraputic massage upstairs.

Yes, there were some smokin' hot stylists there. Unfortuately, I was shown to a young, spiky haired tico for my haircut. Luckily, one of the smokin' hot chicas was at the next chair so I had some nice scenery to look at while I got my haircut!

it's OK to request a particular stylist/barber.

I may sound like a wise guy here, but my solution is to cut my own. A pair of scissors is cheap and it isn't that hard to cut your own hair. The first few times are often pretty shaky, but I've done it for decades and saved lots of money and hassle.

I enjoyed my first deluxe haircut in June. I got the facial, hair cut, finger nails, neck massage, arm massage. It took over 2 hours but was very relaxing. It cost me 9500 colonies, which is still less then the bargin cut shops in the USofA. It would be nice to get a nice list of where these places are and if they speak a little English.

Same thing happened to me. I saw a great looking chica at the door. She led me to a chair and went  into the back. and then a dude came out and cut my hair
