Like Veelee said that someone staying a couple of days as opposed to someone staying for a couple of weeks makes a huge diference.

Since I only go on vacation once or twice a year, I stay for ywo weeks. My daily budget differs every day. Some days I might spend $200, but most days is between 80 and 100 dollars.

I don't drink a lot anymore and I usually never gamble, so that saves some cash too. But if I was only staying for 2 or 3 days, I would party "Balls to the wall" and spend money like a drunk sailor.

This is an interesting thread. I don't budget beforehand, but I keep accounts.

May '05, $111 average per diem.
April '05, $135.
Dec-Jan '04-'05, including Nicaragua side-trip, $80.
July-Aug '04, $111.
Jan. '04, $100.

Notes. These figures include hotels.
Gambling should not be included.
I don't drink alcohol when travelling.
And I take occasional 1-2 day breaks from whoring.
