I agree with El S, except I'm even more vague, I just put San Jose and have never been questioned.

I used to write that, then one day an immigration lady asked me where I'm staying, what hotel?

Once a witch in the booth asked me which hotel. I said the DELREY and she made me leave the line and pay my airport tax in advance.
She also gave me a very dark stare!

Too funny. Sometimes I say Presidente sometimes I say Dominical and sometimes I just leave it blank. I hope you didn't have to wait in line again after buying your exit tax. It is a good idea to purchase it as you get in even though I have never seen the line very long when leaving, I just hate to have one more thing to deal with before I leave.

BTW, on my last trip the Customs line took over an hour. How is it now? ANyone been through it lately? Also, there is a real hot Tica who works at the rental car company. I have never rented a car from her and she always greet me by name. Every trip I say to her, "Will this trip be the one?" and she always laughs and turns me down graciously. I have ben trying to get a date with her for like 2 years now.

PURA VIDA GUYS!

Come to think of it, yes, once they did ask me what hotel, I just said "mi casa", and that was that, they didn't ask for address or anything.

I live in Costa Rica and travel in and out of the country at least every 90 days for visa renewal, The last 3 times I have flown back into the country, customs has not even taken my form much less looked at it. I have always put the name of the town where I live and nothing more and never had it questioned. The last 2 times I came back into the country by bus, it was even more of a joke. We stood waiting for them to inspect our luggage for 35 and 45 minutes respectfully just to have them tell us to go get back on the bus. Nothing was inspected nor was any forms looked at. Last time 2 young Ticos did not even bother to take their bags off the bus and stood talking a sexi young chica in the Bank caja the whole time we waited.

Also the last 3 or 4 times I have left for the 72 hour bit, because of bus schedules, I have reentered in about 68 hours, and no one has ever said a word; just stamped my passport and marked it '90 days'.
