Heh, yah I guess I did come across as a bit of an ass. However, the two of them basically said the same thing. Belittling me because I failed to use Google, when I wasn't asking a question that Google would quickly yield an answer for me. It's like asking which Colombiana in HDR doesn't ask for cien up front. It's just way better to post on a local forum than to google it. So, while my choice of words may not have been appropriate, I won't apologize for responding to people who clearly did not fully grasp what I was asking. I believe that Newton's 3rd Law sums it up rather nicely ... "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Entonces, by simply applying Newton's 3rd Law to both Prolijo's and Spanky's comments, my response was not only warranted, but to be expected. And since your response to Professors perfectly legitimate and thread-enhancing question was a total lack of useful information and a shrugging off of his query, what exactly should the board's reaction to your inaction be? According to Newton, pray tell?

Professor's reply to mine was completely useless. I asked where in COSTA RICA can it be found. I did not ask where ONLINE could I buy it. Therefore, of course I would shrug off his query, as it did not pertain to me. Had I asked if anybody knew where I could buy salvia, then his answer, as well as the others, would've been perfectly adequate.

As for the board's reaction to my 'inaction': Answer the original question. That is what I expected. That is why I posted. If nobody knows the answer, then a reply stating irrelevant information isn't warranted. Just don't reply at all. It wouldn't be very helpful if people just started posting irrelevant information to numerous threads daily, would it?

I suspect that Professor was as much responding to my smart-ass comment and generally providing information to those of us who have never heard of the herb as answering your question.

Please remember that it is a public board. You may introduce a topic in a thread and ask questions. But once the thread is launched it takes on a life o it's own. The fact that a topic gets broadened does not mean that your original question was forgotten. It is just that others get to have a part in the answer and the question. If someone had simply answered "No" to your question the thread would be sliding down the board into obscurity. Now we all know a bit more about the topic.

I asked you about Professor's original question. You obviously didn't even look at his question. Since it's been established that you don't know how (or aren't willing) to search, I'll help you find it. It's the post RIGHT UNDER your first post in this thread.

He asked you what it was.

You asked where it could be found, and he asked you for more information on exactly what it was. And you blew him off.

So perhaps you shouldn't be so surprised when others blow you off.

Or to paraphrase your words: If you don't know where to get it, then I don't know how to tell you where to get it. It's like mongering, either you know what it is or you don't. Sorry, can't help you.

That's funny, I guess there is more than one person around here who sometimes doesn't actually read what is written. Maybe this was a case of the hot pothead PV29 calling the kettle black.

Since its also been alleged by certain parties that I don't read posts carefully enough, allow me to read some of his more carefully:You're forgetting one of the key words - EQUAL reaction, which your reaction clearly was not and thus NOT warranted let alone expected. And you continuing to defend your over-reaction only makes it that much worse.

FYI, my post was really directed as much at the Professor as it was at you. I did say "anybody" and not "PuraVida". So I guess I'm not the only one around here that can sometimes misread others' posts. I'm also willing to admit that my post itself was somewhat mockingf. However, it couldn't have been that bad since it didn't elicit ANY response from the Professor, its primary target, let alone an insulting one such as yours.

OTOH, I now discover that you made this exact same post in another thread (btw, a violation of forum protocol) and, entirely independently, Spanky and I BOTH responded essentially the same way. Are we both so dense or perhaps was that post not so clearly written as you believe? Not only that, your reaction was over the top in both cases. Let's see. I made 1 post directed at 2 people and only 1 person (you)responded. Meanwhile, you made 2 seperate posts which received basically the exact same response independently from 2 different people. Next, you replied to each of them by using clearly insulting terms like ignorant and a jackass and everyone else so far except you has posted that you over-reacted. Hmmm (or pft if you prefer), is it really everyone else, out to get you and insult you and not knowing how to read etc., or maybe, just maybe, is it something in you and how you're dealing with this board?

BTW, re-reading your 1st post I do now see where you included the phrase "being available here in CR" in your 1st sentence. Your 2nd sentence merely said "i know its legal in CR and the states, i just want to buy some here" without specifying exactly where "here" is. I still FAIL to see in the 1st post where you said you were "fully aware of where to buy it online", as you CLAIMED in your follow-up, (in fact no mention at all about "on-line" or "internet" in that 1st post). How can you expect others to not misread your posts when you can't seem to read them correctly yourself? Am I somehow supposed to clearly know that you're STUCK in CR from your vague reference to "here in CR"? Or was it such a foolish assumption that, like most guys on this board, you merely travel to CR regularly and for all I knew was back home in the states (or returning soon)? If you travel back and forth, knowing where to buy it in the states should serve your purposes (unless you're addicted to the stuff and can't wait to get home). Why do you need to even buy it "here" anyway? I could understand why that might be your preference, but lacking the knowledge of where to go locally, and given the fact that you apparently have internet access and there ARE many on-line outlets that will ship it to CR (including live plants and/or seeds so you can then grow your own), it seems to me knowing where to purchase it online would be the next best thing (and, based on the other responses you've received thus far, still your only viable option).

So please please forgive me oh faultless one for missing ONE of the words in your post and not being able to mind-read the rest, for making not unreasonable but ultimately erroneous assumptions, and for offering alternative information that I thought MIGHT be helpful, if not to you, then perhaps to OTHERS. While my post did contain ONE slightly condescending line, MOST of it was at least an ATTEMPT at providing useful info, so condescension was clearly not its SOLE purpose or intent. Your reply, OTOH, was devoid of any real purpose that I can see other than to explicitly and directly insult.
