Do not see the advantage of using a paypal debit card when you can simply use the bank debit card you already have. No need to transfer funds from your checking account into a paypal account to achieve the same result.

I subscribe to the KISS theory and see no advantage to adding another step to the situation. That introduces one more thing that can go wrong.

Banks are charging fees now for using it and giving shitty rates.

Just need to shop around as you do for any service. I pay no fees for ATM withdrawals, including no foreign exchange or transaction fee, and get a competitive interest rate on my account balance.

I have an awesome bank. No need for the Paypal thing for me. All I need is a debit card. Just a word of caution if you are going to give someone a Paypal card...make sure that it doesn't automatically draft from your bank if there is not enough funds in your Paypal account. It can be set up (like mine) to automatically draft if you don't have enough funds. Putting that in the hands of an irresponsible female could be disasterous to your financial health.

lol, anything financial is terrible in the hands of females. I have one of the paypay mastercard/debit cards. I use it all the time, as both a mastercard and debit card. But, I run several e-businesses and get paid through paypal. and since i am canadian dont want it in my canadian bank account. I make a point of not using it in canada for any transactions, works great in Costa Rica and other chica countries. Its just another tool in the toolbox
