For America to be divided nation with strenuous conflict over policies and law is nothing new.

The great men who founded this nation had extremely different views of how the nation should be established. There was tremendous conflict between the “Founding Brothers”.

May I recommend a tremendous book which outlines the issues very well. It is the Pulitzer Prize winning book by Dr. Joe Ellis Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation.

CONFLICT: The personal animus between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr was so intense that it ended up with a duel in which Burr shot and killed Hamilton.

His intense dislike for John Adams caused Alexander Hamilton to pen the pamphlet, "Letter from Alexander Hamilton, Concerning the Public Conduct and Character of John Adams, Esq. President of the United States."

Nothing can be more self evident of the conflict between the “Founding Brothers” than slavery, the evil of which has haunted the United States to this day.

People like Rush Limbaugh have become multimillionaires by exploiting the conflict.

DEALS: The Founding Brothers did deals too. Indeed, Washington, DC became the nation’s capital city because a deal was struck. At the core of the deal was Hamilton’s treasury and banking policies.

Brothers and others--I don't feel I have anything more to say that won't fan the flames of contention. What I've posted I believe deeply...but then the same could be said of the others. i reserve the right to overturn this decision in the case of some particularly outrageous or egregious statements, but O/W I'm going to leave this Thread alone...to the evident relief of many. I am grateful to those who feel the same way I do or at least support a neutral/middle ground or think what should be a calm discussion has gotten somewhat out of hand.
I just saw a Chris Rock comedy special and 2 things of interest: Passport pu*sy--I don't want to have anything to do with women that I don't need a passport to engage with; and BBBJCIM--"1/2 of you women are totally disgusted with this subject; the other 1/2 are in long loving happy relationships." Ain't that the phucking truth?

<<Yo' boy Jazzbocr>> I approve this message.

I decided to just state my opinions then let it be as arguing online about deep-held beliefs is kind of like collecting water from the well with a leaky bucket.

I'm not a Chris Rock fan, but he hit the nail on the head with that one!

I believe his issue was with the larger post by PIDD, but he threw his outrage at me also.
Is there anyone that disputes that the USA is a Constitutional Republic not a Democracy?

Well, today the New England Journal of Medicine released the results of a survey they took, and 46% of the doctors surveyed said they would LEAVE THE PROFESSION if the bill passed. Talk about rationing!

I am still looking for a reply to my post

The CBO just announced that the bill will produce a $130 B surplus.

I don't believe there are a significant number of medical professionals in favor of the bill passing. I am open minded to be shown different.
Use credible links if showing me I am in error.

I believe the answer NYG was seeking was about this quote.

Gringotim wrote:

NYG stated he could not find that in his copy of the NEJM and requested guidance where to find the poll.

Frankly I think Gringotim should post that answer because I think most of us find that number, 46% of the doctors surveyed said they would LEAVE THE PROFESSION if the bill passed., astonishingly disproportionate to what common sense would lead us to conclude. At the very least it would be interesting to see the methodology used by the pollster.
