I think Bro Orange's hybrid plan makes the most sense: instant distro for those who can make it Sunday, guaranteed money for those who can't or sense there's an element of hocus-pocus. Those who get on Sunday will be spreading that word around that it's on the up-an-up and all will get their due.

Thanks for your dedication to this project, Orange, and for seeing it through. One other suggestion I have. If you use envelopes, I don't think you should put names on them. I think that would lead some to wonder if they received the same amount as someone else.

Hey dummy - a gringo owned business failed - and screwed over its employees by not paying them what they were owed (and then had the balls to post that they were gonna reopen on what, Jan6th???) - some guys who knew the place, knew the employees decided to take up a collection for their benefit.

While I know the validity of the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" - and all too often it applies to many situations - if guys want to do something nice, they should be able to.

There's a cool feature on this forum where you can ignore idiots like Greengo. It's called "Friends and Foes"in the User Control Panel in the upper right hand side of the forum. Add him as a foe and you will never see his ridiculous posts again.

But then I lose the free entertainment I get from trying to figure the secret cypher to understand his postings.

actually, a better idea would be for everyone to report his posts as inappropriate, and then the Admin can act and ban his sorry ass.

He does not exist in the sense he is a person - like you or me - he is a sock puppet; some asshole who thinks he is smarter and more cleaver than the rest of us dreamed him up - - while I'm no computer expert, it would not seem like a very difficult programing feat to expose this sock puppet - as well as his creator

Think about this BD - no one - NO ONE - has ever met him - Ever - he never - NEVER - engages with others on the board - make a post like this one about me and I'd respond - as would you - "Hey, I'm no sock puppet - I exist" (kinda a stupid point b/c folks in Costa Rica have met me) plus you can bet I'll exchange posts with you - this guy never does.

There is a guy on the board I happen to like - who PM's me when I post in this way about Greengo - with all sorts of reasons why he posts as he does, and how you might have met him, but maybe did not realize it - but where this guy Greengo is concerned, you might say I'm from Missouri (you know - the "show me" state )

I think Bro Scuba1 has it just right about Greengo. But a sock puppet for whom? Some contained, constrained guy who just needs to let his true feelings out? ...Not that we'll ever know...
BTW, what's a current count of money gathered (I don't care from whom)?

If you ban Greengo, there are a dozen other regular posters who should go also. He has provided a lot of his weird commentary of the years, a lot of it amusing. He is just one of the many odd characters here.
