Last I was in Costa Rica was January 2012, almost a year ago. Just wondering if the smoking ban went into effect since then and if so, is it enforced?

Truly the last place I ever thought a smoking ban would take effect. Can't say I'm disappointed.

In my real life, I don't smoke and only drink an occasional glass of wine. But, when I go to Costa Rica I like to be bad all the way: drink, smoke and Phuck whores.

Can you still smoke In HLH bar or just in wiseash lounge?
Are there outdoor smoking bans such as around the pool at Hotel Cocal?

No smoking in the Hlh bar, you can smoke upstairs in the lounge area and in the cigar bar.

You can smoke in the cigar shop provided:

You have purchased your cigars there

No cigarette smoking

Many cigar shops have similar rules

No idea about the Cocal; I guess I'll know jan 17th!

And yes, I know I'm on the "wrong side of history" but I think a lot of people come down to CR to kick back, do things they would not normally do at home - like smoke - I could probably list the reasons it makes no sense to allow indoor smoking, but to be 100% candid, a little of the wild side of CR went away with the ban.

Yummy :!:  :)

(Don't the rooms have balconies? I can't believe they will not let you smoke there - or even if its "officially banned" that they enforce the rules)
