thanks but no thanks--poor facilities, bad area( more dangerous than most areas), bad reputation among Ticos and Gringos, 2 other MPs within a block that really are no better but do tend to keep prices down in the area, and has always had a problem keeping chicas for whatever reason. Yes new owners could change some of the problems but not the ones that are the biggest . If Mario could not make the place work with his many years of experience in the "business", I would be very skeptical of the place (in truth from what I saw, many of the problems with chicas may have been his fault).

true, I did--the second part was kind of an afterthought and did not realize how it ended up sounding.

In explanation, he is getting older (like a lot of us) and, I thank, did not always use good judgement in that he seemed to always be flirting with, hitting on ,and touching the chicas. Maybe they did not all object but several seemed to be uncomfortable with it and a couple told me that that was the reason they left. Sure the chicas are "working chicas" but he is their 'employer' and the 2 do not mix well in most cases.

If a person sells in liquor store in California the buyer is primarily purchasing the ABC license not the liquor store and its location. I don't know if it is the same in other states.

Would the same be true in this instance? In other words, if the business were purchased could the licenses and permits be moved to a new location?

I think I can hear the wheels turning...

To avoid the same problems as the previous owner, I offer my services as staff recruiter / manager.

You're undoubtedly correct that mixing business and pleasure (yours at least, if not hers) is probably not a very good idea businesswise. I've always heard that referred to is "dipping your pen in the company ink". However, what would be the point of purchasing a run-down MP, if you can't at least have a little fun with it and probably can't expect to make much money from it no matter how you manage it?

Hey Prolijo, You are exactly right!! For me, if I owned a MP, I would always include in the pre-hire interview process a very thourgh and complete "test" to make sure she can 'DO THE JOB'

it's been mentioned many times how difficult it is to make money in the MP business

I wonder how so many of them have stayed in business for as long as 27 years...selling pu*sy and beer

Wise advise about dipping, fishing, and defacating. But the question remains: If the business were purchased could the licenses and permits be moved to a new location? Does anyone know for sure?

.. . and I would never dip, fish or defacte . . . maybe now and then a little flatulence, but nothing serious.

DiegoC,

I do not know in this case. I do know that they have been bought and moved but I do not know the law so do not know if it can always be moved or not.
