BO... I have a post on this subject called "Dealing with Post CR Depression". You should read the responses.

My feeling is that once you are bit by the latina bug... you can never go back to being normal. Well, to being normal without some good perspective.

I have found the my post CR Depression is getting better after 6 trips in less than 1 year. The "newness" is wearing off and somehow I am more used to the shock of the return to the states.

I'm also strategically working out of a city where I can take a direct flight at a moments notice and make a long weekend. I'll be back in 3 weeks.

The only cure for the withdrawl is more frequent trips. Maybe I'll eventually figure everything out. But for now, I'm just going on the ride.

As the weeks wind down for my first trip to CR i ask everyone how bad does it get after you come back to the real world? Is it like a heroine addict at detox? Is it like eating your favorite piece of cake and find out you can't have anymore because you ran out? I have to know what you guys experienced, because I know I'll go through the same thing.

For some reason, my withdrawal after trip #2 isn't as bad as trip #1. Maybe it's because I booked trip #3 less than 12 hours after I returned from trip #2. And I'm NOT kidding either.

THAT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY CURE :!:

If you dont fly first class your Ch*ldren will.

If you dont go to Costa Rica at least eight times a year Your Ch*ldren will.

With that said Im booked every month through April '06 except next month which is December

The addiction is there. When I cant make it I fly a tica up for a few weeks.

It is very overwhelming at first, but if you go back some more, you also learn to take more time and hunt out the gems and/or just have fun. It is still always hit and miss, but is does get easier or harder, depeding on the person. And yes, it can be vry shocking and traumatic for some. I kinda enjoy the hell out of it myself. The hunt is just as fun as the friends you make along the way. Everyday is always different!

Darklighter you are correct. The hunt is always interesting but the friends that you meet along the way is what makes the total addiction even harder to control. I travel all over the world for business. The friends that I have made in CR and off the CRT board have been nothing short of amazing. It is the culture, the people, and the woman of course that makes Costa Rica a special place. Tux
