Hi everyone, I am getting ready for my 3rd trip. I'll be at the SL. Have a few simple questions for the experts.

Should I expect rain in mid November?

I will want to call work without anyone knowing I'm outside the US. What do you recommend?

Thanks, Race

Rain will be hit and miss, November is the official end of rainy season, but one never knows, expect some.

You can makes free phone calls if a VIP member at Zona Blue, If I am not mistaken, all calls show from Miami on ID in the states.

Join, Join, Join...It is not very expensive and will pay for itself on the 1st trip

Here is a rainfall chart for San Jose. November does drop off in rain compared to the rainy season. You can definately expect to see at least some rain during your trip though.

SAN JOSE Average Rainfall

JUL AUG SET OCT NOV DEC

As always, I'm going out on a limb here but according to what I've heard on Radio Dos and what I've read in Costa Rica Insider, the sunsets weve been having of late are a good indicator that the rainy season is coming to a close. This morning (Saturday) is beautifull. A little chilly but a beautifull sunrise with no rain clouds in site.

PS: Used to make calls by using a public phone with an ICE card you can buy on the street for 3,000 colones. Aside from them knowing you are calling from a pay phone, the folks in the US didn't know if I was here or there.

Is it very expensive to call frm my room in the SL? I wouldn't feel comfortable calling frm ZB or from a phone on the street.

This topic has been discussed many times. Do a search. Get an ICE card and use it from your room phone if you wish. Wile Coyote
