As I sit here under my 4 walls and visqueen sheets above. I would give up the electric and phone service if I could have my roof back. I was not as lucky with Wilma this go around. A terrible gust, maybe a twister took off my enclosed patio and ripped half of my back roof with it into the front yard and street. The next 2 hours I was trying to keep all the water from making a mess. It was so futile. The water found every crack in the ceiling until I couldn't keep up with it and....BANG! all the ceiling tiles in the rear of the house fell. Insulation and all. And the water kept coming. I thought it wasn't going to end. I've spent the last few days looking for tarps and visqueen to make it as secure as possible. I've already been told by a contractor that this is not livable. I'm sure when the Insurance Inspector get's here he will also agree. I've been told that it will be a good 2 yrs before I get my house back. And now I'm juggling work(40 mi.), calls to FEMA(A joke), Insurance(Turtle's pace), Gas lines, Contractors and Roofers(who have there own problems). The plus is that nowbody was injured. Just a couple of cuts while on the roof. Also, it hasn't rained and it's been pretty cool out. I generally don't have time to keep up with all of you guys but I thought I would share this one with you.

TT,
What area do you live in? I have seen some pretty bad damage in the Golden Isles area. I am going to Pompano beach tomorrow to hook up a 100kW generator to some guys house. I have heard that the Pompano beach / Deerfield area got hit pretty bad. I guess I will see. Good luck brother and keep the faith.

TT,
Sorry to hear about your damage. If you S. Florida guys have enough gas in your vehicles, jump in your car, bring as many empty gas cans with you, and head up to Brevard County. It's around a 90 minute drive North, give or take. Plenty of gas, water, propane, etc... and supplies up here. If I can do anything from up here, let me know.

Thanks guys,
Today I got another Roofer in and he immediately gave us a Contractor. He said it was the worst he has seen in Coral Springs. Thanks for the offer. I have 20gal of gas on the side and can go for another week. It should get better as time passes. We were told that Blue Roof with the Army corp wouldn't do my roof because of the barrel tiles. Anybody know how to light a fire under FEMA's or State Form's buts? My most concerns right now are the wind and rain coming into house. Just got home from work and can really use a beer. I'll return soon with an update.

Hope everything is o.k. now for you, guys. Have been thinking of all my amigos who live there....I believe that I misjudged what you went through down there...After talking to my sister, she said things were really scary in Naples...My bro. in. law,who is never afraid, admitted that he was highly "concerned' as trees were being uprooted throughout the area...my biggest concern was whether my nephew was all right...he is 16, and throws a 95 mph fastball for the high school team, If he signs a contract, zig GETS TO LIVE IN C.R.!!!!! I love the K*D like my own!!!!

Sorry for the previous question, thanks for the explanation guys, hope things are back to normal!
