Newbie here. Can anyone tell me about Internet Access or Internet Cafe's, costs etc in the Jaco Beach, and SJ. Need to stay in touch with the US via AOL .com during my stay 10-14 thru 10-22.
Thanks,

Internet is abundant in SJO cafes every 100 meters or at least it seems that way, Wireless INT now available in many hotels that we frequent as well as Zona Blue.

JACO SUCKS internet cafe the only one I found was slow motion but if its only for email you should be ok...

People still use AOL?

In SJ, there are many cafes. The prices are around 475 col/hr, if I remember correctly.

In Jaco, there are about 3 cafes that I saw, they are a chain. They weren't that slow, although not up to par with US high-speed standards.

The prices were pretty much the same everywhere, about 475 col/hour, give or take. The difference is pennies.

Agreed. I logged on to CRT in Jaco for what I hoped would be just a brief moment. But the connection was very slow. But, for email, no problem. And yes, I still use AOL.
