An article in the Boston Herald this morning suggusts that cameras, computers and films are being checked for illegal porn. Mainly animal stuff but it did mention und***ge as well. I know we don't condone that type of thing here but it might be difficult to prove a chicas age when trying to explain all of the naked pics of her. The article is below.

Feds thwart bids to smuggle in sicko porn
By Laurel J. Sweet
Friday, September 23, 2005 - Updated: 01:55 AM EST

Pornography being smuggled into Massachusetts is getting more and more bizarre, just as the FBI is mobilizing to wage war with the flesh-fetish industry.
In a recent span of two weeks, inspectors for U.S. Customs and Border Protection at Logan International Airport confiscated the following:
# A laptop computer containing films and photos of women performing sex acts involving dogs, horses and reptiles, taken off a passenger returning to Boston from Ireland;

# One hundred copies of a DVD depicting ``explicit'' sex with excrement, seized from a Federal Express package shipped to Rhode Island from the Netherlands.
It was intercepted in Worcester when the title ``Domina and Caviar'' raised a red flag.
``Our main focus is on terrorism,'' said Ted Woo, spokesman for the CBP's Boston office, ``but this is something our agents are definitely on the lookout for. If it's so-called `normal' pornography, it's not going to be an issue, especially if it's for personal use.''
All other louche loot winds up in the custody of U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan's office, where it is ultimately destroyed unless someone is willing to fight for the sordid contraband in court.
``In some instances,'' said Sullivan's spokeswoman, Samantha Martin, ``if the items are on a computer, the computer will be wiped clean, but they may want the computer back.''
Martin said no one pinched with porn involving consenting adults has been prosecuted in recent memory. Virtually any material exploiting Ch*ldren, however, is expressly illegal.
But just what gets a blush and a free pass versus a humiliating public file? Woo said officers defer to a checklist from Sullivan's office. The office declined to share a copy of its list with the Herald.
The Washington Post reported this week that FBI headquarters has put out a call to agents to join a new national anti-obscenity squad targeting the ``manufacturers and purveyors'' of porn.
Gail Marcinkiewicz, spokeswoman for the FBI's Boston field office, concedes pornography is a tough foe. ``What may be considered obscene in Amish country,'' she said, ``may not be obscene in Los Angeles.''

If you have a camera and remove the memory cards they cannot see your pics and what's on memory sticks stays stored and safe, correct?

I would think so. I don't think they are going as far as looking for memory sticks. But if you leave it in the camera, guess they check it out. I remember reading a thread about this before but I was unable to find it. I know at least on member that doesnt take any chances, he keep copies of the girls IDs. Might be a smart move if these search and sieges become more common.

Most people upgrade the memory card that came with the camera when you bought it. Best thing to do is take a few scenic pics with the original card in the camera. Take any mongering pics on the upgraded card. When you get ready to return to the US insert the card with the tourist type pics.

Chances are if they are going to look at your camera they will be much less suspicious if there is a memory card installed than they would be if there was no card. I think no card would result in them looking in your luggage for a memory card but doubt that they would do that if there was a card installed.

Just a thought not a guarantee :D

I agree that shit flicks and animal flicks should be banned. Since when is it illegal to have pictures of nude women? If they agree to it and they are over 18, what is the big deal? I find that this is a shocking infringement on my rights.

I don't think they do anything when its with consenting adults, but I can just imagine how hard it would be to try and explain some of the girls ages without IDs. They could easily believe that some are under age when they are not.

E-mail the pics home and travel clean.

I always have the hotel front desk make a copy of all ID's before going to my room. Make sure they make a copy of both sides as there birthdate is on the backside. I do this just in case I do take pics I have a copy of there ID to back up there age. This is a good policy to protect myself from any search that may happen.
