Saw this story on my Facebook feed, apparently she beat him over the head with a blender and used his credit card a few times once she got out of there. The expat had recently bought his home for 300k. To to long ago. Wondering how this will develop, there’s a lot of traction behind this story as of right now

Surely someone in here will recognize this girl. She is a very attractive hooker from San Jose.

"This is not the first time authorities have warned about targeted and violent crimes involving tourists and retirees. The U.S. State Department currently lists Costa Rica under a questionable Level 2 Travel Advisory when in reality, it’s the most dangerous country in Central America."

Surprised to read that in the article. I recall it used to be the safest country in Central America. I imagine they’ll find her soon as she’s leaving a trail with using his stolen credit card. What a terrible thing. Poor guy was just wanting to enjoy his retirement. Another reminder that you need to be careful out there.

Costa Rica and El Salvador have "switched places" in regards to crime. Things can change... Singapore used to be a crime ridden shit hole back in the day. Still an authoritarian government, but very little crime. When I was in Tamarindo, I was advised not to walk around very late at night. And that's a small surfing community, not a big city.

Looks like Costa Rica has a super prison being open soon itself.

An update from Tico Times 22 y/o last name Ortiz. Looks like she's from South of SJ Desamparados which if you've ever been seems to be destitute and in rough shape overall

Desamparados has a mix of areas, some not bad, and some quite bad. It is a large area.
