Damn. I hardly ever visit CRT anymore, and when I do, I find out another great and unforgettable person has passed.

Rest in Power, Bill and thanks for the memories.

In case you missed it, Hulk Hogan died too. Same age as Bill.

There are many places, outside the US, to indulge in our hobby. Bill made Costa Rica special.

Boynton, you’re in country, maybe you know the answer to some of these questions

1) What kind of services will be conducted in Costa Rica?

2) Is Costa Rica going to acknowledge his contributions as a long-time businessman?

3) Will he be interred in Costa Rica or returned to the USA?

4) What’s going to happen to SL?

I ask these questions because of all the rumors now being generated.

Any answers are most appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Was just there last week. They did a Celebration of life on 7/23. I did not ask what other services they will be doing or where he will be interred at. Manfred said that they will be keeping the SL open and family of Bill’s and his wife’s family will be running it.
I’ve been going there since 2001. The fountain outside was inside. Only rooms were the courtyard and clubhouse. Shirley was the bar manager and Manfred was working the desk. CRT was full of new post and members. I meant Bill the first night and had a great time. I’ve been going back every year. Meant his dad while he was there and his brother. He will be dearly missed

I feel really sad about Bill and for his family.

I first met him in 2008/9 when I was staying at the lodge frequently and would see him on walk throughs in later years when I was staying at Castillo. Always so nice and welcoming to myself and others. My last stay there Sept. 2023 still the same friendly smiling Bill and said to me "Has been a while, good to see you back".

R.I.P. Dear Bill.

Oh wow, I didn’t know he was married. Is his wife American or Costa Rican?

His wife is Latina, not sure Costa Rican, but not from the US. They also have a young daughter, probably 7 or 8 years old.

Oh, wow, I didn’t know that. About the only thing I know about Bill is that I saw him come out of SL, a dude opens a gate next to SL and Bill gets into a big silver - or grey - Hummer and drives away. He had a female with him, but I don’t remember anything about her. I never saw a Hummer in Costa Rica, so that stuck in my mind.
