Hello. I'm the local idiot, got mixed up with a "tica loca" a few years ago but all-in-all it wasn't a terrible situation. I would get an airbnb in Heredia and she would visit regularly. It certainly wasn't paradise, but hey, it worked somewhat, and I had lost the urge to go fishing in the bars. Too many RFMs finally put paid *not* to her made-up bills but to whatever relationship me might have had (dysfunctional, LOL).

Now I'm looking to head back to San Jose, get back into the scene there. I've previously stayed at SL and Castillo. I'm hoping to hear from folks with boots on the ground and a few years experience what the situation is these days for chicas at these locations. I do tend toward the SL due to familiarity.

I realize the co$t has gone up (exchange rate doesn't help) but is the quality the same or has that gone down at the same time?

Also, I remember Pops taking me to Monica's on my initial visit to CR, and he also set me up with one hot chica that rumor has it is back working there... I wanna find out if that's true.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I prefer the SL , the security, customer service, food , it comes down to familiarity and repetition.

I have no issues with the Castillio, its my second choice. Quieter for sure. Taromina is a modern place , but reminds me of the DR.
Its what ever you're confrontable with

Monicas over all IMHO, has some of the most beautiful ladies, but , hate the upsell.

I've been going to SL for at least 15 years now. Is it as "lively" and crowded as it used to be? Absolutely NOT. That said: Do I still love staying there? Absolutely YES. It's more calm and relaxed than it used to be. Some of the girls are heavier but most are fine. By now the staff there knows me very well and they treat me very well. I met a beautiful Flaca there about 5 years ago and been seeing her almost exclusively since then so I don't need to be "on the prowl". The decade from 2000 - 2010 was very magical in SJ. That won't return. And that's OK. I have those memories. But even though things are different today, I still very much going to CR and staying at the SL. It's always very therapeutic for me.

My first visit to Costa Rica was over 30 years ago. Things come and things go. Like every other "discovered paradise," CR loses its lustre after a while. I miss the way things used to be... SL and Castillo are still pretty good, but ohhh... Del Rey... Zona Blue... back in the day...
