The ball has always been in Castro's-Cuba's court. The embargo could have been lifted years ago if Castro was willing to give up his dictatorship. All that Obama is doing is surrendering to Castro.

In other words, step down and retire to his estate on Niagra on the Lake
In the abstract, I agree with you, BUT
How many Dictators would be willing to do what you suggest - not likely to happen - no more so than it will in Saudi Arabia, many countries in Africa, China, North Korea, and a whole host of others (think in terms of about 80% of the United Nations General Assembly

)
What I'm looking for is action on the part of the Cuban government - as they did during the Carter and Clinton administrations when a thaw in relations was actively pursued - to screw it up.
They need a boogeyman to blame the sins of their failed, stupid policies.
Personally, after 35+ years in Miami, and living with and knowing many Cubans, I think its time to try another solution, because the current one is not working and has not for many years.
To complete my discussion of politics

I despise the policies of Barack Obama, especially in the areas of health care and government encroachment and encouraging government dependency - I also despise the policies and the big mouth of Eric Holder. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
However......
In 2 areas I agree w/ Barack Obama - we need to do something about illegal immigrants and Cuba - I respect the steps he is taken thus far and think they merit discussion vs the current nonsense from those who are in opposition.
OK I'll get off the political soapbox!
