Its coming man, you know its coming. She's going to see you next week and already the bad stuff is starting to happen to her family. I'll be looking forward to hearing when she actually pops the question. In the meantime do some checking, MoneyGram may be cheaper than Western Union.

If you seriously want to give her money on a regular basis, open a bank account, set a daily limit on withdrawals, and give her the ATM DEBIT card. (Not a Visa-Debit card)

I did this to a gringa who couldn't manage money.
She used very penny, but couldn't overspend.

That is the best idea of all. Keeps both of you "happy" and one of you solvent.

I have considered setting up a Visa Buxx account for my lady friend in CR. Here is the link:

It is designed to teach young people (e.g. your banned words) how to be more responsible with money and credit. I have read up on this card. You link the card to a bank account and then transfer the desired amount of pre-paid credit to the card online.

The person who sets up the account (e.g. YOU) appears to have access to the spending online. This might be a good way to see how a tica is spending your money. Has anyone used this approach? If so, please report...

I couldn't remember the name , but you have it. Preset limit (up to you hansum man) and you reload the thing at your pleasure (so to speak).
