I just received word from some of the former bartenders that Hector the former security guard has passed. He was in surgery and didn't come out of it very well and passed a little after. He was a good friend and a real nice guy. We had many good times I would always say Hector (like in the movie Troy) you want a beer and he would just nod his head yes. RIP

I'm sorry to hear that. Indeed, Hector was a great guy. I'm sure many of the 'old-timers' (and some not-so-old) remember him. Buzz...he wasn't that old was he...late forties?

I will miss Hector and I miss the NY Bar too. Hector was always helpful when my band played there, helping carry equipment etc. RIP amigo.
