I met him, about 8 months ago. He's pretty liberal about our "hobby", and, indeed, liberal in general. He's very labor-friendly, as is most of his political party.
He is mostly "DIS-interested" in our hobby, as opposed to "UN-interested." Being labor-friendly and liberal, he would probably respond aggressively to any perceived mistreatment of working girls, or any ill effects caused by the proliferation of prostitution.
Aside from that, the distinct impression that I got from him was that if the girls are happy and making money, then they have the right to do whatever they want to do with their bodies and he doesn't want his government to interfere with that.
There has been a stronger police presence in the gulch recently, as well as more "raids" and "ID checks" than there were one year ago. Most of the girls and police that I know are telling me that, as usual, everyone is trying to impress the new President with what a good job they are doing. Some of the bar owners downtown are telling the cops this (I'm liberally translating this into our terms):
"Now that tourism is having a nice little resurgence here downtown, go ahead and put on your little show for your new President. But... Could You Please! NOT torpedo the monger tourist business right when it's trying to make a nice little comeback, and the Colon is looking North of 550:1? If you guys could help us out a bit, that would be Grrreeeeeaaattttt!"
