Let me start by saying thanks to everyone for all of the great info on this site. This will be my 3rd trip down to CR in the last year, and the first two were awesome - thanks in large part to the great advice and tips picked up off of CRT... I promise to give a good trip report when I get back in April..
My buddy and I booked our upcoming trip for April 16-20. We are spending a night at Sportsman's and then heading to Jaco for three days. I didn't realize when I booked that this was Easter week, and I have come to understand what a big deal that is in CR. I figured since it sounds like everyone flocks to the beach that it wouldn't be too much of a problem and might be fun to see all of the goings on. So I read online yesterday that Thursday and (Good) Friday are "dry" days and there won't be any alcohol being served on those days. We can live with that - just stock up at the duty free on the way in. My question is this though.. Does that mean that the bars will be closed in Jaco, or just that they won't serve alcohol those days? And more specifically, does anyone know if the bar at the Cocal will be open on those days? And can we expect the fantastic scenery that we enjoyed at the Cocal pool bar on our previous trips?
Have I made a big mistake booking for that week? To the point of maybe paying the airline change fee and booking for the next week instead?
Any advice or thoughts are truly appreciated..
