Hey all,
I did a search and seen some posts back in 2005 about blackberry service.
Does anyone know if ICE is offering blackberry service for our unlocked phones we bring to CR? I used to buy my SIM card right there in the airport as i was getting off the plane. Do they still have that little desk there in the airport to buy a SIM? And do they offer blackberry service? Blackberry service on a blackberry phone includes emails, yahoo, blackberry messenger, facebook, internet, whatsapp, etc.
Thanks
S

Yes, the little ICE Kolbi desk is still there in the baggage claim area by the bathrooms.

My understanding is Kolbi 3g supports text and voice only on BBs.

I still have an unlocked BB Bold 9700 which I used as my CR carry phone until recently. Tried to activate Internet on it several times unsuccessfully. When I asked the ICE Kolbi folks about it, they told me data services are not available on that model, so I could only get data services when on a Wifi connection.

I've used the same ICE Kolbi SIM card on non-BB unlocked smartphones and Internet works fine as long as you activate it.

Don't know if Claro or Movistar support BBs. Perhaps others can provide more info.

Thanks for the response MH.
I wonder if it's just for that model of phone. I wonder if my Q10 would work. I guess the only way i'm going to be able to tell is to ask them when i get there.
You said there was a SIM card table downstairs? Yeah i remember that one also, but there was also one upstairs. That is where i usually went to get my SIM, but i guess i can go to the downstairs one also.
Thanks again

There is a KOLBI kiosk (or desk) on both levels of the airport.

But you cannot get to the departure level of the airport when you arrive. As I recall, the "improvements" at the airport limit your movements upon arrival. You must go directly from the arrival gate to immigration downstairs, and then to baggage claim....where the KOLBI desk is on the lower level.
