Shame I can't post it here as some have questioned my honesty about sighting secret service agents eating breakfast in my hotel in Guanacaste over a week ago, it's idiots like you that make sharing information and helping others such a pain in the ass these days!
Obvious dig at me, since I was the person who mentioned it seemed unlikely that the Secret Service blows their cover like that. I never once said that I doubted you saw people with badges, just doubted they were SS. They could have been any number of US/Costa Rican law or govt agencies.
And because of "idiots like me" you can't share information to help a person with an injury?
This is what you should tell her -
"Miss, we're sorry we couldn't raise the funds to have your surgery, but a few weeks ago, there was a guy on an anonymous online forum that centers around prostitution, who said he doubted the validity of Secret Service agents at a breakfast buffet. Due to this comment, we weren't able to raise the money. It's just so tough to share information when you have people like that on the internet."
And you're an idiot if you think people are just going to blindly donate money to some "victim". This is an age old scam, people pretending to help others in need and then pocketing the money. I'm not saying you're doing this, but the lack of an official donation site causes some concern, and people have a right to be skeptical about where their money is going.
