Yes. If you are using ICE you can visit their website to find out the details. You can pay by the Kilo byte or you can sign up and pay for unlimited access by the day, week, 2-weeks or month. Again, see the ICE website for details. You will need to configure your phone to use the ICE network for internet access. If you pay by the kilobyte you will have to configure the phone on your own. See the ICE website for details. If you pay for unlimited access ICE will send the settings to your phone automatically. The speeds vary but in general they suck. Even the highest (possible) speed is nowhere near the advertised speed.

Thanks Western, do you know if I can do that via Kolbi desk at the airport or do I need to go to an ICE office? Do you know app cost per month for unlimited? Can I recharge that plan via internet? I'll do a chat on-line with them tomorrow, but thanks if you can give me a head's up.

I really recommend (again) that you visit the ICE website. Here is the link: http://www.grupoice.com/wps/portal/kInternet_prepago

You will find the answers to your questions there.
It is possible, and somewhat likely, that someone at the ICE boothe at SJO can help you.
To buy unlimited access you send a text message to 6060 with the word for the period you want to buy. (ie dia, semana, quince, mes) You must already have sufficient funds in your account to pay for the service when you send the text. In other words, recharge before you buy.

It costs ¢9.000 per month. I usually buy 2 weeks at a time. The cost is the same (¢4.500 X 2) per month.

Movistar (competitor of Kolbi) offers this as well and is known for having faster and more reliable internet speeds. I made the switch and I'm very pleased.
