It has been said that the Philippines is a really a Latin American country in the middle of Asia, and that Haiti is really an African country in the middle of the Caribbean.
I have spent a lot of time in the phils, and while there are some really attractive mestizas (they seem to dominate the TV programming), I have found that the Spanish spread very little of their DNA out in the countryside.

What was wrong with those dang colonists? Too lazy? Made the mistake of bringing their wives with them?
However, I did meet one dancer eleven years ago in Club Vodoo on Fields avenue that had one Spanish grandparent on both her mother's and father's side and wound up looking very Spanish. Not very attractive, just very Spanish looking.
