Hello new Friends...never been to Costa Rica but I am anxious to go. Sure could use your help with several questions that I have.
1. I would be gong solo. How safe is it to travel to CR alone? Are there things I should avoid?
2. I am in my upper 50's in age. Does age make much difference in finding quality entertainment or making the rounds?
3. Can you hire drivers for my time there? If so, any estimate on price?
4. What time of the year is best to go?

I'll answer your questions , but please read the newby section !!!

1) Most of CR is safe for a solo person all day long. In the evenings certain area's require travel by cab.

2) I've seen guys from 18 to 80 , 100lbs to 400 lbs ...It's all about your attitude and your cash.....these are "working girls"

3) You can hire a driver , but it really isn't necessary. Cost depends on where you want to go. If it's around town , pay as you go is best.

4) anytime except easter week and new years week. I'm sure others will chime in on this . Some prefer green season , some prefer rainy season ?

Green season=rainy season.

Walking alone at night drunk is number one to avoid.
