Want to take this opportunity to announce to those not already aware of it that a high-resolution JPEG version of the updated Monger's Map I've been working on is now available in the VIP pics section (#1140). Simply right click on the pic, save it as a JPEG to your hard drive, and print it from there.

To recap my recent post in another thread, my objectives here were:

1) to update the previous map with the hours of operation and price information posted in RBC100's sticky.

2) to incorporate an inset showing the Oasis neighborhood.

3) to include info on popular off-site locations like Kamur, Tango India, Scarlett's, etc.

4) update the legend to classify the different locations more accurately (i.e., strip clubs, MP's, bars with on-site facilities, etc.).

5) use dollar sign symbols to give a general idea of pricing for each venue.

6) to note those venues that have a discount arrangement with CRT.

7) to make all this printable on a single page.

Let me add that in no way is this meant to compete with Prolijo's more comprehensive map project which I believe is going to be made available soon. Still, I hope some may find it useful, and I welcome any updates or corrections to the information included.

My thanks to CRT'er Hazel for assisting with the JPEG conversion.

GR

GR,
Thanks for taking the time and effort on the new and improved map, appreciate it muy mucho! And thanks Admin 1 for making it printer friendly. I head down manana and will be using it to search out some of the less frequented places in the Oasis area. "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of your enemies"!!!

GR thanks for all the hard work the map is great.

One question, you included the Park Hotel (closed) but did not show the Gran Via Hotel which is popular with some members here. Was that an oversight?

Thanks for all the compliments, and by all means, let me know if you would like to have any additions made.

Ding Dong - where and on which side of the street is the Gran Via located?

Thanks,
GR

GetRhythm,

Wonderful improvments! The first one worked well for me but you have added a lot more information to this one.

GR,

Gran Via is on Avenida Central 25m west of Calle 3. The entrance is right next to the mercado you have correctly labeled.

The best thing about this map is the legend which goes into detail about every bar and massage parlour, etc. Not only the location but the prices, hours open and comments.

I'd wanted to do the same with my map but it turned out to be a mess after a lot of work, I for one appreciate all the many hours of effort that must have went into creating this map. GR, if you want to use the Lumps map as a background, I have the original map he used and I will send it to you.
