I tried Brother Orange's mention on "traducir"--to translate--and it came up instantly with a complete table of all tenses and combinations. Great tool.

Nice find.
Question: Was there a Preterite when I went to school last century?
Are they like the atomic table that keeps changing?

That's a beautiful find, Orange. I need to print out some of my problem/irregular verbs. Thanks.

Yeah, I went to school last century too and we had it. :( Preterite is just the simple past tense. In Spanish, there are two past tenses (not counting subjunctive), preterite and imprefect. The preterite form is "I drove" (one-time action). The imprefect is "I was driving" (continual action).

I have noticed that Tico sometimes use imprefect when it should be preterite. For example, "I had $5". It should be preterite "Tuve" (I had) but many use "Tenia" (I was having). I guess it's a Tico thing.
