Hotel Del Rey Shot At

A moving car shot at the front door of Costa Rica's infamous hotel, the Hotel Del Rey, in downtown San José late Tuesday evening.

Reports from eye witnesses say that more than a half dozen shots were heard, all targeted at the front door of the hotel, injuring one security guard.

Witnesses say they saw a grey coloured vehicle, with no licenses plates, approach the door and began firing.

An anonymous tip moments later to police led them to the location of the vehicle that was abandoned in a parking lot on the south side of San José. The shooters had fled the scene.

Authorities are investigating the motive behind the shooting and hunting for those responsible.
