Fusionx, nice photos of PI, I lived there for a short time while in the military. Brought back some great memories like 911 Driver. Looks like the bar scene around the old Naval base has really died down since I left in the early 90's. Funny, about 2 years ago I spoke to a guy who owned a bunch of those bars (name escapes me now) here in CR. Last time I spoke to him he was still operating them traveling to PI from CR. Good stuff, I hope you really enjoy your time there and the girls!

I was just there in February for a couple weeks, and yeah - the Olongapo bars are gone. There are bars in Olongapo proper, but they're 90% geared to the locals. No problem with that if you conduct yourself well, but it's not the same..

Barrio Barretto has all the action now. I used to love going to Barrio back in the day. I spent most of my time there between '83 and '91. We'd go to Subic City (now referred to as Calapandayan), grab a girl or three, then spend the day in Barrio, hit Magsaysay Drive for dinner and clubs, then back to Barrio for the night. What fun.

Subic City still has something like 8 bars open. Only three are really geared towards foreigners, but all of them can be fun. The local bars there are, IMHO, better than the foreigner bars. The locals never gave me any problems, but I stay low-key with the spending, and don't act the fool, etc. They will get upset if some gringo comes in and throws money around, is loud and obnoxious, etc. Subic City doesn't have the restrictions that Barrio has, so they have the "bold shows" with full nudity, peso shows, all that stuff. The only downside in these bars is the number of and quality of the girls. Most of the hotties go to Barrio, and the ones that choose Subic City are sometimes not too hot. But there can be cuties on occasion.

If you want to talk more, let's move this to a new thread :)

Does anyone know more about this? How long ago, etc? I'd like to pass on any stories anyone has about her. It could very well be the same person.

It's hard to believe the woman in the photos could ever have been called a "cute little blond" but it's worth looking into :)

There's a picture of the girlfriend in this article, when she was slimmer and had blonde hair. She could easily be described as a "cute little blond". http://www.panama-guide.com/article.php ... 7184033958

This is getting scary:

Here's one that will keep you up at night. Since I broke this whole story about serial killers "Wild Bill" and Jane Cortez last week, I've received dozens of emails from people saying things like "holy crap - they came to my house - I was advertising it on the Internet and they wanted to see it..." I have heard from people all over Panama - Altos del Maria, Coronado, Volcan and Boquete, Cerro Azul - and the story is always the same. The current owner or seller is always a gringo. They advertised their property for sale on the Internet. They were contacted by "Wild Bill" and Jane who came to see the property.

.... *bulk removed*

There are reportedly dozens of members of the community of English speaking expatriates missing in Costa Rica who have never been found. That's why "Wild Bill" and Jane Cortez could live as millionaires. They kill people, steal their property, sell it, and move on. Until yesterday, that is...

And as usual Costa Rica bumbled around. They knew where they were while they in Costa Rica, but as always CR officials "couldn't" do anything about it because of some reason or another. Thank goodness for our neighbors to the north. Glad these folks are out of circulation. This is going to definitely be a movie eventually.

AP has reported that the guy admitted to killing five Americans in Panama. He and his wife are in jail in Panama.

Maybe starring Mel Gibson--it could only burnish his, shall we say, tarnished reputation.

By the way the capture went down, I am suprised the Nico gun boat didn't just blow them away. Probably had orders not to but probably should have.
