Did anyone do anything or go to any parties yesterday for Colombia's Independence Day? There were several in Jaco and I'm sure I could have asked one of my neighbors and found something really fun. But I didn't check it out as I'm off the booze and in one of my healthy phases. I knew I couldn't weather it without throwing down pretty hard.. Talked to a friend in SJ who got my mouth watering talking about all the food they were preparing. Just got me wondering if anyone on the board did anything.

Yes, but nothing too spectacular... a shot of aguardiente with the wife and a call to Medellin. We're heading to Elizabeth, NJ, on August 1st for the Colombia Festival celebrating 200 years of independence.

Ahh, was thinking about some aguardiente last night. Would have liked to check out the Colombian restaurant on Paseo Colon if I had been in the city. Can't wait for the economy to improve so I can finally make it down to Colombia. You guys are killing me always talking about Medellin.

Yes, I know the restaurant you are talking about, it's between Paseo Colon and around Calle 34 or 36. I hung out there with a paisa amiga a few years back. The dancing and drinking goes on until the wee hours of the morning... just like in Colombia.
