In Nov 2006 I was alone at the Cafe Mundo around 5 P.M. when a blonde gringa woman around 45 years old came in and sat at the table next to mine. She ordered a glass of wine and she seemed very disturbed and agitated. She then turned to me and said she had just had a bad experience with a taxi driver. She claimed he took her on a long ride and demanded an exorbitant fee that she was forced to pay. I felt sorry for her and paid for her wine even though she had not asked me to.
Later at the SL bar some of the brothers said she had been there too and the bartenders seemed to know her. Seems she tries to bum a drink if she can but is not blatant about it or hustles aggressively
I never saw her again.
Could be the same lady with a new approach in a new location outside the DR.
No, that wasn't Sandy you encountered. Sandy is about 55 years of age and has been using the same M.O. since I started coming to CR in 2004. The thing about Sandy is, "she just works too damn hard at it." You see her around the Del Rey/NYB area from early afternoon to late in the evening, just about everyday.
