Hey guys,

I have had a SIM card from ICE (88XX-XXXX) for a few years.

Yesterday, I brought over an unlocked Blackberry to Costa Rica. I have no problems making/receving phone calls and I have no problems receiving text messages. However, text messages are not out going out.

Everytime I send a text message to another Costa Rican cell phone I get the following message:
"Failed to send message - SIM Toolkit control error. Please try again later."

I have even tried adding +506 before the number, to no avail.

Has anyone experienced a similar inconvenience? Greatly appreciate your input and would love to receive a solution to this problem.

if you have your SIM Card for a long time you might need to change it because. earlier Sim card could not do text message. they were not set up to do that. So call the ICE office and they should be able to tell you..
