Now you might expect an odd-duck question from me but here goes--Are there any deaf Chicas you've come across? Do they sign in Spanish? Lip-read? Do any Brothers sign in Spanish?
I have no especial interest/fetish in hooking up with same but inquiring minds wish to know. I'll leave the questions about Chicas with prostheses to others--though there might be a community of interest there too...and that's not a bad thing.
I think it was mentioned in a Thread about a Chica in Jaco who was deaf. Anybody want to confirm from personal knowledge? How was it?

I was under the impression that sign language is sign language no diferente del todo mundo. I would be interested to know if this is correct. For words they have to spell like pura vida, I would assume they spell in Spanish. Another inquiring mind wants to know.

The thing of it is that ASL (American Sign Language) is not English--true, they use the same words but the syntax and grammar are not the same. As a matter of fact, hard-core deaf advocates are opposed to such as cochlear implants that bring the deaf into the mainstream because they work to destroy the unique linguistics and thus culture of the deaf. I know this because I work with profoundly deaf people and they've showed me this explicitly (the USPS is the world's largest employer of the deaf/ hearing-impaired). As with all oppressed/ minority peoples, they understand us quite well; we have nary a clue about their world and culture.

I met a deaf chica in the Del Rey one afternoon around 3:00PM. I thought she just had really bad english until I spoke to here with her head turned and she could not hear me. She was good at reading lips. She was a very sexy and beautiful girl. Blondish hair, very nice body. I did not pull the trigger but later wished that I had.

Unfortunately there is not a world wide common sign language.
A quick search showed American sign language, French sign language, Indian sign language, etc.
It seems sad that there is not a common language.

I have seen the girl in Jaco years ago. She was around for a few years, and I haven't seen her since. No, I didn't, and even if I hadn't already been with someone else, I still wouldn't have. Most of the times that I saw her, she was working on increasing her blood/ alcohol level in El Bohio--and, I heard that she would get quite wild
