I also crossed there once a good number of years ago. It is a free zone with 20-30 small shops and a few bars. Probably grown up a lot since I last passed. Sorry, not much help. :(

Im looking at making this crossing in 3 weeks but heard it is a pain in the crossing. Read the 2 crossings up north nearer Bocas del Toro Panama mas tranquila but would take me way out of the way to get to my destinations of interest in Western Panama (David y Boqueta).

Not going there specifically for chicas but if they opportune of course. Just wanting to see some more terrain on my upcoming nine dayer. But Im also concerned with having to drag all my shit in and out of there. Fear of theft, being slowed down etc. So I might postpone this portion and spend all my time inside CR.

Maybe if I bookend my trip at SM's L (if they have rooms) they will store my large bag whilst I go there for a few days?? Worth an ask.

David is a really long and super cold trek on the bus..has a huge bus terminal with old bluebird chicken buses going to little villages and towns all over the area..dozens of businesses selling sundries to the locals ..some expat bars..a little mall..its warm to hot...great if youre an artist or righter.. most of its charms are not immediately apparent...boquete is not far from daveed by chicken bus ...the area has a 9 month rainy season of almost constant drizzle ..its cool to cold ....lots of rip off priced lots and homes..not much to see..some nice little restaurants ..tourist stuff..both places pretty safe.........the bus from sj to sixaola super cheap ..then a cab ..shared about 4 bucks to finca 4...then the 45 min boat trip through semi jungle and across the bay about 6 bucks shared to bocas del toro is a tolerable journey..some nice scenery..water taxis to everywhere and a beach island for the half day cheap..nice three and half day jaunt...dont swim in the ocean round the hotels..dont take the bike ride to forever with the cute little blond psychopath..take proof of return air wherever you cross..going to an indian village is fun..unless youre a herpetology major dont get off the road on the way..theres a plane to sjo if you want to pass on the bus trip back...lots of coeds from the east coast on the obligatory cross racial lib shock the parents field trip who dont care and cant tell if youre 26 or 66 after four beers..David is more of an osmosis.. week or so deal..all the things expensive and hard to find in cr...food prices and selection ..cars..apts..are cheaper in David

Thanks Greengo. I could read this one and helps me figure out to plan 9 days appropriately, want plenty of poon and not so much travel hassle but would like to see David. Figure I can rough it out from Paso Canoas and make David my basecamp for 3 nights then go up there to bluebird hill just for short day trips to scope it out. Then per ISG I shoud be able even with intermediate - level Spanish pick up young chicas for short term jollifications on the fly in David!!! :D :D And if not I will spend the majority of my trip in CR.

I plan to fly into Coto 47 or Golfito maybe even stay couple nights in Golfito on way back or coming then 2 nights Domincal on the way back.. Already been to Jaco and SJO numerous times.
