Whatever your head and heart tell you to do about the cedula, at least follow these good Brothers advice and post her picture here. We deserve to know about thieves, whether deliberate or "crimes of opportunity". And of course this was a disheartening but cheap learning experience--I'm guessing you won't make that mistake again.

Just my opinion: revenge is the stupidest of all human emotions. Oh it may feel good for the moment but revenge always begets another negative outcome. The classic historical example is the revenge that the Allies exacted from Germany through the Treaty of Versailles; that revenge led to the negative outcome of World War II.

Perhaps I am preaching to myself more than to you in as much as I am in a position right now to fu*k someone to his knees, a person who has done me wrong. On the other hand the person will be punished through legal means but I forego my revenge because it can only eat me up with hatred and the desire to get back. Revenge and its ancillary effects will not benefit me in the long run. It can only harm me especially if I allow it to. My advice to me is -- let it go.

Revenge is NOT in the act of notifying your fellow mongers who she is and what she has done. I strongly encourage you to post that information. She will get her due if you do the right thing by your fellow monger and post her name and photo so all others will be warned. If she is barred from HDR, SL and other venues, that is a consequence of her actions not revenge. If no one goes with her, that is a consequence of her actions.

I believe that is rational and not simply a play on semantics.

Brother DiegoC is wise beyond his years. The income she will be denied she may never know about, but it will be real. And yes pure revenge demeans both parties. Brother Diego C used the example of the reparations and subsequent crippling of the German economy, spirit and soul--to keep it in context and purely American, think the Hatfield-McCoy feud that ruined countless lives over generations for a reason no one can remember. For readers, think Charles Dickens' Jarndyce vs. Jarndyce; again the base reason became, over time, forgotten and irrelevant.
However do post her picture with commentary Not being nice comes with a price--Right, Jack Reacher?

Some seem to agree, unknowingly or not, with the handling of bad behavior in CR. Thief breaks into your house and drops his wallet... Whatdaya do? Call him of course, keeping his wallet won't solve anything. Maybe give it back but give her a stern talking to about the errors of her way/// haha

Thanks for all the advice on this. After thinking about it, and reading everyone's opinion, I decided to not keep the ID, or burn it.

On the other hand, I have no clue on how to get it to her, I don't know her phone #, and without she won't be at HDR or anywhere else that checks ID. There is no address on the thing for me to mail it to her.

What do you think about just turning it into the front desk at HDR? There isn't a whole lot I can do beyond that.

I agree with DiegoC, and I'm going to take the high ground. As far as being ripped off, "Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you want.". But still, she will have gone at least 3 days (including the weekend) without the ability to get in the bars. Karma phucked her already for more than she got from me, so there is no reason for me to make it worse.

I don't carry a scanner around with me, so I don't have a way of scanning her ID. But I will leave her name on here when I get back home. Although she has the tica equivalent of John Smith, and the picture looks nothing like her.

Maybe you do. Do you have a camera? Take a macro picture of the cedula . Do not use flash.

Why not have it framed as a little momento and treat the cedula acquired as art? 8)

I vote for tossing the ID after you post a scan of it on the Scammers page.

You know Bro, who really gives a shit at this point. The chick takes your property and now you are all stressed out about getting her property back to her..... Do whatever you want and I vote for no more advice giving.

And, he has already said he isn`t going to post the cedula. I mean no point in hurtng her feelings in that regard either....

Wait a minute :?

Then in the Mia thread-

But I pay the Tica for her part as agreed. But of course she wants the whole $100. I end up giving her $50, plus another $30 later when she starts whining about losing her ID. It was just too much to deal with, and she was killing my talking with Mia.

Assuming this is the same Tica- how do you rationalize voluntarily giving her 80 bucks as you being "ripped off'?

I could be wrong, but I get the sense GW Hunter is lampooning CRT mongers with this thread and his other parody on the HDR bartender. Probably enjoying it, too. Oh well, far more outrageous stories have been told on this board.

GWTH -If the photo looks nothing like her the Cedula may not be hers. Perhaps that is why she was so upset because the Cedula belongs to someone else.

Many copy centers in downtown have scanning capabiliites.

I’m with Cujo on this one. Why give a Phuck? Was she a favorita and you were surprise by her behavior? Maybe there is more to this story. If not, as it has happen to me, if I do not have a way to contact her or you no longer want to deal with her, give it to the from desk and let them deal with it.
