Before you get the idea that this post has something to do with hot gay love... Thank again!

I'm talking about playing music with the boys. I had the great pleasure to play with Bilko and his partner-in-crime Mike on Friday, Sept.4 at the NYB. Their duo is called "Gringo Stars," and they rock!

Seated behind an old Alesis QS-6 keyboard and (mostly) bellowing over my shoulder into Bilko's mic, we covered everything from Santana to Guns n' Roses to C.C.R to (unbelievably) Janis Joplin!

. These guys have talent; if you ever get the chance to hear 'em, do it! Bilko is a fine guitarist with a great tenor voice. Mike covers the material almost perfectly with a voice that is at once flexible, yet which carries the rasp of a good deal of self-abuse. It was truly a pleasure to perform with them for three sets at the New York Bar.

Does he play guitar for the chics?
If I knew how to play halfway decent, I would be taking my guitar down there and serenading the chicas in my room in between sessions. I always knew there were guys that did that kind of thing.
