Of all the Latinas this year, IMHO, Venezuela was the LEAST attractive. CR, Bolivia, DR, Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, ALL better than her.

Do you think its sort of an "opposites attract" kind of thing? With nearly half the winners being latina it makes me wonder..

Eh, I don't know about that logic. I think in many ways Latinas of any country would be considered "opposite" to all races except hispanics...

Ok, I was too lazy (and busy) to search for the other thread on Miss Universe 2009 so I just waited for a new one to be created.

I didn't see the show on TV, but I took a look at the photos on the website.

There were some sexy Central Americans this year. Miss Costa Rica probably impressed me the least of them. Judging solely from the 5 official photos of each contestant, I thought Miss Nicaragua was the best of Central America followed by Honduras, El Salvador, Panama, Guatemala and then CR. Looking at the screen shots from the actual show, Miss Nicaragua is less impressive. The power of good photographers...

Miss Panama deserved Best National Costume. That was pretty cool.

As for Miss Venezuela, she looked very European in her official web photos. Maybe that helped her with some of the judges. I thought there were plenty of better candidates, including the Dominican Republic.

Who do you guys think was tops among all of the Central Americans? Among all of the Latinas?
