Just read in the Tico Times that Arias had signed a new immigration law.
In my reading, it seems it will be more difficult for working girls to come into the country via marriage, illegally, or otherwise ... and will face higher fines if caught. Moreover, employers will face hefty fines for hiring them.
As a big fan of Colombianas, does this mean even less of these beauties in Costa Rica?
Any educated insight or opinion would be appreciated.
The new law now unties Immigrations hands and allows them to challenge "marriages of convenience". How this will play out can not be determined until the procedures to enforce the new law are promulgated. This will occur during the six month period between when the law is officially published in La Gaceta and the date it takes effect.
